“There are so many different ways that you can give it additional color or flavor,” she says. “It just has kind of that little snow cone look to it.” Think of your ice cubes as a canvas - and not just their shape, but what you fill them with. She has an ice maker for nugget ice, “it just makes a cocktail look really pretty, especially in the summer,” she says. “There are some people who love big block, chunky ice, and then there are some people who love the crushed, nugget ice,” Marquez-Sharpnack says. You’ll need distilled water for clear ice, but after that, you can have a lot of fun with it. While it may be tempting to pick up a bag of ice at the store, fancy ice can take your cocktails from a drink that looks thrown together to one that looks professional.
